The CHIR International Conference held in Tokyo (5-6 December 2009) intended to cross the methods of comparative history and of History of international relations. It was worth comparing the effects of Cold War on regional integration in Europe and in Asia and, at the same time, to examine the relations between States and societies inside Europe, inside Asia and between Europe and Asia during the Cold War.
